Read John 8:37-47

In these verses, we learn a lot about satan.

You see Jesus knew satan before we did.  Jesus had his own personal encounter with satan, and satan lost.

Now satan wants to get to Jesus thru me and you.  How so?

These verses tell us that satan will prevent us from hearing the Truth.  He distracts us with noise of his own.  Have you ever thought about how noisy our world can be?

Jesus calls satan a murderer and a liar.  How so?

We hear things that sound good, but they don’t agree with what Jesus teaches.  We choose ways that are easy and fun, but they are not the way that Jesus teaches.

Satan teaches lies, and we know that the penalty for sin is death.  Therefore, satan is a murderer.

From John 8:31-36 we know that only Jesus teaches the Truth and that only by hearing and obeying the Truth can we truly be free from the burden of the sin in our lives.
