REVIVAL

Psalms 85:6      “Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?”

Psalms 51:10    “Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”

Revival is defined by Webster as:  to restore, revitalize, renew, resuscitate, replenish, reanimate, renewed interest in spiritual things after decline or indifference.  We all need a time of spiritual refreshing, a time when we pause to think about how our relationship to Christ is going.  There is a partnership in revival.  God gives us opportunities for us to repent and change our lives and He promises to forgive us.  We are to see if there is spiritual decline, if so we need to get back on track with God.  There are possibilities in times of revival.  The opportunity for sinners to become saints and the chance for improving our walk with God.

Our Revival dates are September 19-22.  Ronnie Jones will be speaking on Sunday Morning and Monday thru Wednesday nights.  Gary Jones will be speaking on Sunday Night.  Let us commit ourselves to be present for our revival services and to invite our families and friends to come and be with us in revival.  God is ready to do His part but only if we are willing to do our part.  Let us pray and commit ourselves to revival.

Reading the Bible

Accept the Bible just as it is, for exactly what it claims to be. Don't worry about the theories of the critics. The ingenious efforts of modern criticism to undermine the historical reliability of the Bible will pass; the Bible itself will still stand as the light of the human race to the end of time. Pin your faith to the Bible. It is God's Word. It will never let you down. For us human beings, it is the rock of ages. Trust its teachings, and be happy forever.

Read the Bible thoughtfully.  In Bible reading, we need to watch ourselves very closely, lest our thoughts wander and our reading become perfunctory and meaningless. We must determine resolutely to keep our minds on what we are reading, to do our best to understand what we can and not to worry too much about what we don't understand, and to be on the lookout for lessons for ourselves
